I've definately been letting the team down with my absence. With mcxNOW action being so quiet you kind of just put little MNC in the long term basket I guess. Bring back mcxNOW and all it's glory I say.

I used to solo MNC with 1400khash a few months ago when hardly anyone mined it. I did OK (my power costs 24c per k/w, so I was at least breaking even). I imagine solo'ing without a decent rig would be quite a challenge now - blocks are only 2 MNC each, and all that hash fighting for just 2880 coins a day!

I have an insider in West Australian affairs, but Coober Pedy is in South Australia so I'm not in the loop sorry. Shale is just starting to boom in Australia, but if you are talking stocks - its often not so much the mineral, but the deposit size/location. Check out the 2 year ASX chart for SIR.AX to get an idea of what I mean, and that is just boring old nickel!

The whole "default / debt ceiling" scenario is just a giant farce. Most US debt is owed to themselves, a country with a soverign currency effectively can't "default" since they can print all they like. The debt ceiling gets lifted all the time, but for some reason even now and again they make a big deal over it. Last one I remember was in 2011 when the world was going to end and Gold/Silver rocketed...and guess what - last minute deal! IMO this can kicking will go on for decades more.

Also forgot to say, I've been spending BTC on physical goods since early 2012 - buying goods is what got me started in BTC!

I have a small bit of experience here. I currently live in a city that has a world renound Gold/Silver Mint (Perth Mint, AUS), so I have the opportunity to buy physical gold/silver at good prices. I currently offer to buy gold/silver for fiat and post the goods on to users on a local precious metals forum, who pay me beforehand in BTC. I have found they have no issue with giving out their address, and I used to get great demand. I don't offer the service so much anymore as I used it to effectively buy BTC without paying commissions, and I don't have the need to buy as many BTC these days. But yeah, the precious metal community is fairly paranoid usually and they had no issues.

Wow, this is a bold move! Good luck. I'd love to see it happen, I've said before that I'd sell gold/silver and some PC parts for MNC (but unfortunately can only do so domestically - Australia).

Agreed about the HD7950 being the best for now. I bought HD7970's and regretted it, I pay 24c per k/w and I was barely breaking even with their huge wattage draw. Had to stop now that summers coming back, hard enough to keep the house cool when its 40 + degrees outside.

Totally agree, I love how when BTC rises and altcoins are getting smashed, MNC seems to hold strong!

I remember back when people were dumping MNC below 0.0002 and we were picking them up, wonder how foolish those people feel now.

That buy support at 0.002 is badass. I've been placing a few 1 BTC buys just above it and getting hit about once a day, slowly accumulating!
